Iranian-American Leadership Camp, Summer 2008
Information for Prospective Counselors
Application Deadline: March 15th, 2008
The Iranian-American Leadership Camp will be held June 22-28, 2008, at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. IAAB will provide camp counselors with all the materials they need, as well as lodging and three meals a day, plus snacks and beverages. IAAB will also cover expenses for ground transportation and day trips related to camp activities. Counselors will be required to participate in a training period on June 20-22 and a debriefing on June 28th, the costs of which will also be covered. The sole financial responsibility of counselors is their travel to and from the camp.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled college or graduate school students
- Demonstrate maturity, as well as interest and experience in leadership development
- Possess qualities that will lead them to be good role models for others
- Demonstrate interest in working with children and youth

Counselors for the Camp will be selected on a competitive basis. As such, submission of an application does not guarantee participation, and we strongly advise you to respond thoughtfully and thoroughly to all questions.
Applications will be reviewed by the camp team, and finalists may be contacted to schedule a phone interview with the camp team. At the end of the selection process, we will notify all applicants of the decision on their application, and those chosen to be camp counselors will be notified by April 30, 2008. Chosen applicants must notify the Camp Team of their decision to accept the position of camp counselor within one week of being notified of their acceptance, by writing the Camp Team at leadershipcamp [at] iranianalliances.org. Once we have received this confirmation, IAAB will send additional information and materials regarding the specific details of the program.
