The International Conference on the Iranian Diaspora began in 2004 in Boston, Massachussetts, as a forum for addressing the current scholarship, conditions, and activities of the Iranian diaspora. Please find more information about this first conference, including the schedule and speaker bios here.

The overwhelming success of the 2004 conference led to a continuation of the conversations begun there in 2005, at the second International Conference on the Iranian Diaspora, held at the University of Maryland, College Park. Please find more information about the 2005 conference here.

These two conferences engaged over 300 scholars, students, community leaders, and artists in and around the various Iranian diaspora communities and provided an unprecedented opportunity for diaspora Iranians to meet and exchange ideas, information, and experiences as Iranians.
