Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB) is excited to present Camp Ayandeh, IAAB’s annual Iranian-American high school leadership camp for rising high school freshmen through rising college freshmen.

IAAB seeks motivated and enthusiastic university students to serve as counselors and mentors at Camp Ayandeh.  Counselors will be asked to participate in a training period from June 28th-July 1st. IAAB will cover all counselors’ basic food, ground transportation, lodging, materials for the duration of the training and camp, including ex­penses related to day trips for those selected to participate in Camp Ayandeh. The sole financial responsibility of counselors is their transportation (by air or otherwise) to and from Los Angeles International Airport.

Counselor Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be currently enrolled college/graduate students or young professionals
• Demonstrate interest and experience in leadership development
• Possess qualities that will lead them to be good role models for others
• Demonstrate interest in working with children and youth

IAAB is strongly committed to building a diverse team that represents a range of opinions, experiences and per­spectives. As such, individuals of all backgrounds, gender, race, culture, sexuality, and class are encouraged to apply.

Counselors will be selected on a competitive basis. As such, submission of an application does not guarantee participation. All applicants are strongly advised to respond to all questions with honest, thoughtful and thorough answers.

Applicants who are selected to serve as counselors must confirm within one week of notification of acceptance into Camp Ayandeh. Upon receiving a verbal or written commitment from selected participants, IAAB will send additional information and materials as to the specific details of Camp Ayandeh.

As a part of the application process, some finalists in the program may be contacted to schedule a phone inter­view with the camp planning committee.
