Camp Ayandeh 2008
June 22 - 28, Emory University, Georgia
IAAB's third annual youth leadership program, Camp Ayandeh 2008, took place at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia during the week of June 22-28, 2008. With 70 campers and 31 staff, Camp Ayandeh 2008 created a positive environment where campers developed a personal understanding of their culture and identity and felt empowered by the experience of belonging to a community of Iranian-American peers and role models.
Emory University's campus was a wonderful location for Camp Ayandeh 2008. Located 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta, Emory's staff has extensive experience and training in youth camp education as well as in leadership and team development. Both Camp Ayandeh and Emory University have had immaculate records with regards to student safety. In addition, Emory had in-residence staff specifically trained for all possible scenarios who will be available through the duration of the camp, and IAAB had access to Emory's on-call staff, 24 hours a day.
